Weight Loss: Week 2 and 3

Posted by AFarmhouseFull on February 5, 2013 at 10:50 PM

 Week 2

Pounds lost for this week: 1.5

Total pounds lost: 2.5

Pounds left to lose: 17.5

Workouts this week: 5 (3 cardio/treadmills, 2 weight lifting)

Eating Notes: Did better this week.  Getting used to not snacking between meals and not as many sweets.  Man, I ate a lot of sweets!  Again felt hungry....or maybe just "cravey".

Week 3:

Pounds lost for this week: 2

Total pounds lost: 4.5

Pounds left to lose: 15.5

Workouts this week: 4 (3 cardio/treadmills, 1 weight lifting)

Eating Notes: Ezra started a growth spurt this week and I was HUNGRY....like a lot.  In order to keep up a decent milk supply and aid in the process of upping my supply due to his growth spurt, I allowed a couple hundred more calories for a few days at the end of the week.  Not sure but I think it will probably effect my weight loss numbers next week.  We'll see.  Ah, the woes of nursing and also trying to loose weight.  I am NOT one of those people who lose weight readily while nursing.  I wish I was.  My body seems to fight back and hold on to a little insulative layer while nursing. I will be happy if I hold steady next week and then I can get back on track the week after.  I will say though; my pants are getting a little loose......whooooohoooo!!

I am really disappointed that a Christian woman would post a picture of herself looking like this. How does your husband feel about anyone and everyone being able to see that much of his wife's cleavage. Please, please give this some thought, dear sister in Christ.

My personal modesty standards are a decision between my God, myself and my husband. Thank you for your concern, but I am at peace with my standards. They may not be as strict as some but we are not all cookie cutter Christians who have the same convictions. I wear a swimming suit in public too....sometimes a two piece, does that make me less of a Christian? I believe not. We will have to agree to disagree.

Just realize that you are causing brothers in Christ to stubble by dressing this way. That should be cause for concern for any Christian woman. I'm not at all judging you, just speaking in love as iron sharpening iron. In no way do I think you are "less of a Christian" , but that you could be being a stumbling block to others. Besides this, a picture taken by you, of your face and breasts doesn't reveal weight loss...so why post this if not seaking for attention?

I won't post any more comments about this, but I urge you to pray and think about this and perhaps talk to some older, Godly, Titus2 women who could be an encouragement to you in this area.

I wish you the best in your walk with the Lord.

Thanks, again for your concern. The photo was of my big smile.....proud to have stuck with it and lost 4.5 pounds already. You seem bent on the idea that my breasts were the main focus of the photo; they were not. Again, I am at peace with my discernment about MY modesty. Form fitting t-shirts, nursing in public, swimming suits, and shorts could all fit into this category of "causing a brother to stumble". When we take our convixtions and try to force them upon everyone else we are at risk of becoming legalistic. We must not trybto be someone else's Holy Spirit. A legalistic approach is what Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for.

I think this is awesome - giving me some motivation to lose my last 10lbs of baby weight! Glad to hear I am not the only one that did not experience "nursing makes you lose all your baby weight" - my body just wanted to hold on to a little extra I guess :)

Way to go! Love your blog!

About Me:

Hey y'all! Welcome to our family blog. We are a large, loud and Jesus loving family from the rural Midwest. I am Nicci, also know around these parts as "mom" to my brood of a half dozen and as "babe" to my handsome other half.  We live on a handful of acres and have raised chicken, pigs, bees, tomatoes and most importantly our rowdy bunch of kidlets.  We cloth diaper, homeschool, DIY, and try to eat as "homemade" as possible.  My ratio of hobbies verses free time is COMPLETELY unbalanced.  I enjoy crocheting, knitting, sewing, designing, drawing, using power tools, and anything else that involves creating. I also love to decorate and organize when time and money allow - but come on now, it is hard to make it to the bathroom without little people following 2 steps behind me and my grocery bill is comparable to a mortgage payment!  It is a busy, challenging and sometimes chaotic life managing a larger than normal family but ultimately one of God's greatest blessings that I am immensely grateful for!  In no way have I "arrived" or  "figured it all out", but I am humbled to be able to share my experience with others!
