I got this from the McLinky Monday post from The Wheeler Family, a fellow blogger friend who has her hands full with 4 little children of her own! Feel free to blog your 5 W’s of blogging and link back to my site and to The Wheelers, and then leave a comment with your blog's link in my comments if you wish!
WHO do you blog for?
I started off sending out “update emails” to friends and family because, quite frankly, our family changed quite quickly – we always seemed to be remodeling a home, building one, having a baby, getting pregnant, etc. So instead of sending out emails I started a website so that they could drop in a frequent or sporadically as they pleased and know what we were up to. Then it evolved into a different sort of thing. I realized that I was quite diligent about blogging and posting photos (because it was so simple) in a way I never was with journaling. Also, I had the ability to add photos which, to me, holds more of a sentiment when you have little ones that change at the drop of a hat. As the blog matured, I was able to look back and revisit some really happy times for our family – like my blog was sort of a heavily journaled scrapbook. Now, after 3 (or has it been longer?) years I am hoping on making these into a book of sorts for my kids to have that will hopefully let them see themselves growing up in our home and some life lessons they have taught Mike and I and hopefully that Mike and I have taught them!
WHAT do you blog about:
Whatever is on my mind at the moment. It may be political or religious rant or it may just be what we did this weekend. Most of my entries have to do with raising children, homeschooling, cooking, cleaning, organizing and our daily lives because, quite frankly, that is my life as manager of our home.
WHEN do you blog?
HAHAHA!!! Well if you are a homeschooling mama to lots of little kids then you probably know it is whenever I get the chance. Many times I do it before the kids wake up, after they go to sleep or after we finish with the school work in the afternoons, sometimes it is right after chores in the mornings. I am not regular about it, nor do I strive to be. Blogging is for my enjoyment so I do it when I can without having to stress to much about it.
WHERE do you blog?
On my laptop and where ever is convenient at the time or where ever the computer is set up at the moment. On my bed, the couch, in my office, at the kitchen table. I just have to have my flash card with photos with me and off I go to blogging land!
WHY to do you blog?
I have kind of already answered this, but it is a journal of types for me and a book of knowledge of sorts for my children. All the little things that we did together as a family will now be preserved for my kids and I. How fun is that? Also, hopefully they will get to know Mike and I more intimately when they themselves have little kids at their feet. They will know we went through the same emotions, challenges and triumphs when we were a young family. Other than that, just so that I don't forget our wonderful times as a family and so that I can always keep my eye focused on all my many blessings!
